W.A.S.P. Fans Pelted Megadeth With Rocks At Croatia's Metalfest Open Air

News

In the fist half of June in Zadar, Croatia, there has been Metalfest Open Air that has been held for four days. There were many of bands who performed at this festival including Moonspell, Graveworm, Megadeth, Legion Of The Damned, Symphony X, Brainstorm, In Extremo, etc. W.A.S.P. and Dark Tranquillity also were on the performers' list but hasn't played at the event at all due to some issues.

Although there has been no official statement on the matter, it appears that Dark Tranquillity was forced to pull out of the event due to "technical problems," while W.A.S.P. refused to play following a rumored backstage disagreement with Megadeth over other technical issues.

When Megadeth hit the stage and started playing, the crowd began flipping off the band and throwing stones and bottles at Megadeth following the cancelation of two of the festival's other main-stage acts.

After Megadeth left the stage, a spokesman for the band came on and told the audience, "Guys, Dave's [Mustaine, Megadeth frontman] been hit in the head with a rock... I apologize. He's been hit in the head."

The crowd then launched further items at the spokesman, prompting him to also leave the stage.

Video footage of the mayhem from this night's concert can be seen below.

The fact is, before going on stage, Megadethbassist David Ellefson recorded a short pre-show video message in which he said rather prophetically, "The stage is set for the pandemonium to begin tonight."
