Singer Johnny Solinger has finished laying down vocals on the new Skid Row album, "United World Rebellion - Chapter 1", tentatively due later this year via an as-yet-undisclosed record label. Some of the sessions for the CD took place at Open Sky Studio, the Atlanta, Georgia-based facility owned and operated by producer/drummer Mike Froedge (Dreaded Marco, Black Label Society, Doubledrive, Speed X), and the Bonehead Studio, also in Atlanta.
Commented Solinger: "This truly is a special record. Can't wait for you all to hear it."
In other news, Solinger is working on a new solo album, to be released later this year. The CD's first single is tentatively scheduled to be made available digitally via iTunes later this month. The track in question, "Rock And Roll Cowboy Man", was written for Solinger by Richard Young (Kentucky Headhunters), John Fred Young and John Lawhon (Black Stone Cherry) and will be featured in the motion picture "The Prodigal", which is currently being filmed in Texas.
